Molybdenum Processing Plant

Introduction
The Molybdenum Processing Plant is a specialized facility designed to efficiently extract and concentrate molybdenum from molybdenite ores. This advanced plant integrates multiple stages of processing, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and roasting, to maximize molybdenum recovery while minimizing operational costs.

Process Flow

1. Crushing and Grinding:
   • Raw molybdenite ore is crushed using jaw crushers and cone crushers to reduce the particle size to ≤ 20mm.
   • The crushed ore is then ground in ball mills or rod mills to achieve a fine powder with a particle size of 0.074-2mm.
2. Flotation:
   • The finely ground ore is processed through flotation cells. Collectors and froth stabilizers are added to the slurry to enhance the separation of molybdenum particles from gangue materials.
3. Roasting:
   • The molybdenum concentrate is subjected to oxidative roasting to produce molybdenum trioxide (MoO), which is a key intermediate product in the production of molybdenum metal and alloys.
4. Dewatering and Concentration:
   • The final molybdenum concentrate is thickened and dewatered using thickeners and vacuum filter presses to produce a dry concentrate suitable for further processing. 

 

 
Main process of flotation production line:
1. Ore crushing
2. The crushed material was sent to ball mill for grinding.
3. Classified . Granule with unsuitable size will be sent back to the ball mill , while suitable ones will be sent to the flotation system.
4. Some medicament agent will be added to separate target material from others.
5. After going through the flotation system with coarse separating, sweeping separating, fine separating, they will be concentrated and filter pressed, and then get the final products
6.The whole process is finished.
