In the mining production process, concentration is an important step in processing ore, tailings, mud and other mineral slurries. Mining thickner equipment (also known as mining concentrator tank, thickening machine) plays a vital role in ore processing. It is mainly used to concentrate and separate ore slurry by gravity sorting. It effectively separates the useful components from the useless impurities in the mineral by adjusting the density difference of the material, thereby improving the recovery rate of the ore, reducing the volume of tailings, and reducing environmental pollution.
Mining thickners are usually based on the principle of gravity sedimentation, and the slurry is layered in the sedimentation tank through the slowly rotating concentrator cylinder. Due to the different densities of mineral particles in the slurry, heavy particles will settle to the bottom, while light particles will float to the surface of the liquid. Mining concentrators control the sedimentation process of different minerals and achieve effective slurry stratification by adjusting operating parameters such as feed rate, depth of the concentrator tank and rotation speed.
