Process Flow
  1. Mining:
    • Mica is typically sourced from pegmatite deposits through open-pit or underground mining methods.
  2. Crushing and Grinding:
    • The extracted mica ore is crushed using jaw crushers and then ground into fine powder using ball mills or Raymond mills.
  3. Flotation and Screening:
    • The crushed material undergoes a flotation process to separate mica from impurities. Screening follows to sort mica into different grades based on size and quality.
  4. Dewatering and Drying:
    • The mica slurry is dewatered using thickeners and filters, followed by drying to remove any residual moisture.
  5. Grading and Packaging:
    • The dried mica is graded by particle size and packaged according to customer specifications.

1 Mineral selection process flow of gravity selection+flotation The combined beneficiation process of gravity selection and flotation is to first remove coarse tailings through gravity selection, and then enter flotation to obtain coarse concentrate. gravity selection is the use of density, particle size, and shape differences between mica and gangue minerals for sorting, while flotation is the use of surface physicochemical differences between mica and gangue minerals for sorting.
2 Grinding and grading stage Grinding and dissociation are generally carried out using wet methods, and common equipment includes wet energy-saving grid ball mills; High frequency fine screening and classification are used to separate the dissociated mica from the surrounding rock and obtain qualified feed particle size requirements;
3 Gravity selection stage Firstly, spiral chute beneficiation is used for coarse selection. The fine mica product obtained by spiral chute beneficiation is further separated by a shaking table to remove sand inclusions in the mica flakes. The shaking table can efficiently separate heavy sand (magnetite and zircon), light sand (feldspar and quartz), flaky mica, and mineral mud.
4 Flotation separation stage One is to use anionic collectors to flotation mica in acidic medium, and the other is to use anionic collectors to recover fine-grained mica in alkaline medium.
